Membership Fees
Regular membership fees (resident) have increased by $2, the first increase in nearly 10 years. Senior rates are still set at one half of regular memberships, so have increased by $1.

The library card issued is The Alberta Library Card. This card may be used for full service in any Northern Lights member library, including Tofield, or at the online catalogue. Limited free service is available in over 250 other libraries throughout Alberta, for up to five books at a time. Books may be borrowed and returned at any participating library. Sign up at the library for yours today!
Tofield Library accepts The Alberta Library (TAL) card, issued by any other TAL member library.
Up to five books per card (no audiovisual items) may be borrowed at no additional cost. Identification with address may be requested by staff.
Reciprocal membership agreements are in place with:
- Edmonton Public Library
- Camrose Public Library and
- Strathcona County Library,
Full service at Tofield Library is available at the resident rate for cardholders in good standing at the above libraries. Conversely, Tofield cardholders may apply for full service at those libraries.
Residents of jurisdictions which are not members of Northern Lights Library System or The Alberta Library, are subject to a non-resident fee of $60 per person. They are not eligible for an Alberta Library Card, but will receive a Northern Lights System membership card and have full access to all services available to system members.

Other items may occasionally be limited due to high demand.
Reserves and Renewals
Items out on loan may be reserved upon request, or through the online catalogue. Patrons will be notified by phone when the item is available for pickup.
Items may be renewed for one additional loan period if not reserved for use by another patron, in person, online, or by telephone.
Tofield's catalogue may be viewed jointly with other libraries in The Regional Automation Consortium (TRAC) at TracPac. Holders of valid library cards in any TRAC library may request books, view items out, items reserved, etc. all online.

Loss or Damage
Patrons are responsible for all materials borrowed. Charges for damaged or lost items will be assessed up to the full replacement cost, plus a fixed administration charge per item.
Non-return of items, or non-payment of fines may result in suspension of borrowing privileges and/or prosecution under The Libraries Act.
